The Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova will finance a project aimed at raising the Moldovan population's interest to the 2009 parliamentary elections.
The project, to be realized by the IDIS-Viitorul Institute for Development and Social Initiatives, will have a budget of 167.8 thousand euros, of which 134.2 thousand euros will be furnished by the European Commission.
IDIS experts told your Infotag correspondent that at the first stage they would study the image of a typical Moldovan voter, and work out advertising materials. They will also publish a voter's reference book.
Already after the elections, the Institute will proceed with a monitoring of the new parliament's work, and will be studying how parliamentary parties will be fulfilling their electoral pledges.
IDIS Viitorul has invited non-governmental organizations and the Central Election Commission to cooperation over the project.
